Psalm 114

Written on a Caroline Clare Class writing prompt with the early poetry club which turned into Writer’s Block. My poemization of psalm 114. (The whole poem is not posted.)

From the day Jacob
Clambered from mud-baked bricks
And deserted the tongue
Of Egyptian-speaking lips

Judah’s land did promise carry
And Israel became God’s sanctuary

The Bloody Water with blood-shot whites
Beheld their march and blinked away
To pass their flight under fire-pillar night
And yawn apart for a cloudy day

Rocky citadels clacked their feet
And skipped away like bolting rams
Cliff-crowned hills became as streets
And pounced and rolled like newborn lambs
