Short Fable

Heere is a fable my brother wrote.

The Two Cows and the Lion

One day in the meadow, there were two cows.  Both of them had been fighting over who should get the best grass by the forest.  They were butting horns and kicking at each other.  Finally one of the cows said to the other I give up.  And so that cow walked to the other side of the meadow where the grass was not green and juicy.  The other cow walked to the other side of the meadow near the forest.  And while he was walking he said out loud: “I AM THE BEST.”  While he was eating there, a hungry lion that was going to get some food by the meadow because he knew the cows would be there.  As the lion was walking he heard those words: “I am the best.”  The lion thought and said,  “I am the king. I am the best.”  So when he got to the meadow, he pounced on the prideful cow and carried him out to the woods.  When the other cow saw that he ran to the best meadow and stayed there.

Moral: Pride over a success should not throw us off our guard.
